Selection is made by the Union Public Service Commission through Recruitment by Selection, which may involve a Recruitment Test (RT) or Combined Recruitment Test (CRT) followed by an interview, or interview only, depending on the post - the notification does not specify which mode applies to each individual post beyond noting that a Recruitment Test may form part of the selection process. Recruitment Test / Combined Recruitment Test, where held, is ordinarily conducted at: Ahmedabad, Bhopal, Chennai, Delhi, Dispur (Guwahati), Jaipur, Jammu, Kochi, Kolkata, Lucknow, Mumbai, Nagpur, Port Blair, Ranchi, and Visakhapatnam.
