Two-Day National Conference on Building and Other Construction Workers (BOCW) to Begin in Mumbai Tomorrow

The Ministry of Labour Employment, in collaboration with the Government of Maharashtra, is organizing a two-day National Conference on Building and Other Construction Workers (BOCW) in Mumbai on 11–12 September 2026. Chaired by Union Minister Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya, the conference reviews progress on three major initiatives launched in November 2025: the State BOCW Digital Labour Chowk, Labour Chowk-cum-Facilitation Centres, and the Online BOCW Cess Collection Portal. Several states are launching or inaugurating these digital and welfare initiatives during the event.

Agreement Signed between DBN (Digital Bharat Nidhi) - Department of Telecommunications; Government of Jharkhand; JDICL; BSNL & JCNL for Implementation of Amended BharatNet Program in Jharkhand

An agreement has been signed between Digital Bharat Nidhi (DoT), the Government of Jharkhand, JDICL, BSNL, and JCNL to implement the Amended BharatNet Program in Jharkhand under the State-led model. The project aims to upgrade and expand rural broadband connectivity, covering 4,395 Gram Panchayats and 26,777 villages with a financial support of ₹1,684 crore from the Government of India.
