How this calculator works
Marks obtained = (Correct answers × Marks per correct answer) − (Incorrect answers × Negative marking per wrong answer). Percentage is marks obtained divided by the maximum possible marks (Total Questions × Marks per correct answer).
You only enter Correct and Incorrect. Unattempted is worked out for you as Total Questions − Correct − Incorrect, so the three can never disagree. The only thing the calculator has to reject is Correct and Incorrect adding up to more questions than the paper actually had.
Example
100 questions, 2 marks each, −0.5 for every wrong answer: 60 correct, 20 incorrect, 20 unattempted gives marks obtained of 60×2 − 20×0.5 = 110 out of a maximum of 200, which is 55%.
