Computer Based Test (CBT)/written screening test of 120 marks, of 1½ hours (one and a half hours) duration, or as decided by the Aayog The test consists of 120 multiple-choice questions, each carrying 1 mark, covering: General Knowledge (including HP General Knowledge and Current Affairs); Everyday Science, Logical Reasoning, Social Science, General English and General Hindi of Matric Standard; and Word Processing on computer Minimum qualifying marks: 45% for General category, 40% for SC/ST/OBC/Wards of Freedom Fighters - relaxable by up to 5% (to 40% for General and 35% for SC/ST/OBC/WFF) if sufficient candidates are not available Shortlisted candidates (based on CBT/screening test merit) must then appear for a prescribed typing skill test, which is qualifying in nature In multi-shift CBT exams, scores are normalized using the Z-Score (Mean and Standard Deviation) Method Final selection is followed by document verification of shortlisted candidates
