Nature of Appointment & Contract Terms
- Purely contractual, initial period of 3 years, extendable based on performance; a 6-month observation period applies during the first year.
- Does not entitle any candidate to claim regular/permanent employment in PMBI.
- Selected candidates are liable to be transferred/posted anywhere in India at PMBI's discretion.
- Resigning or abandoning service within the first year (including the observation period), or violating appointment terms, attracts liquidated damages equal to 3 months' consolidated pay.
- During the 6-month observation period the contract can be terminated on 7 days' notice for unsatisfactory performance; after that, 30 days' notice (or 30 days' pay in lieu) applies.
- The number of posts may be increased or decreased based on internal departmental requirements.
Selection Process
- Initial Screening – the application form and supporting educational/experience documents are checked and verified against the eligibility criteria for the post applied for.
- Written Examination – screened candidates sit a written exam covering English language writing skills, subject knowledge related to the post, and general knowledge (no conveyance is paid for appearing).
- Personal Interaction cum Interview – candidates who qualify the written exam are interviewed; the offer of appointment is issued in order of merit based on credentials and interview performance (no TA/DA is paid).
