Qualification (as on 30.06.2026)

Generalists
Graduate/Postgraduate degree in any discipline, min. 60% marks (55% for SC/ST/PwBD), completed by 30.06.2026.
Hindi Officers
Master's Degree with Hindi and English per the specified combinations, min. 60% marks (55% for SC/ST/PwBD).

Where only CGPA/OGPA/SGPA is awarded, a university conversion certificate is required (59.99% counts as under 60%). Working knowledge of computers is mandatory for all candidates.

Age Limit (21-30 years, as on 30.06.2026) and Relaxation

Born between 30.06.1996 and 30.06.2005. SC/ST: 5 years; OBC (Non-Creamy Layer): 3 years; Persons with Benchmark Disabilities: 10 years; Ex-servicemen (5+ years service): 5 years; Defence personnel disabled in operations: 3 years; Widows/divorced/legally separated women (not remarried): 9 years; Existing confirmed employees of PSU General Insurance Companies: 8 years. Cumulative relaxation capped at maximum age 45. ECOs/SSCOs get Ex-servicemen relaxation.

Salary, Probation and Bond

Basic pay Rs. 82,485-4050(14)-139185-4390(4)-156745, plus other admissible allowances - gross pay approx. Rs. 1,10,000/month at Metropolitan centres. Includes Gratuity, LTS, Medical Benefits, Group Personal Accident Insurance, National Pension System (NPS), and leased accommodation as per Company rules.

Probation: One year (extendable at the Company's discretion). Officers must pass the non-life Licentiate Examination conducted by the Insurance Institute of India during probation; failing it within the extended period can lead to termination.

Guarantee Bond: Selected candidates must serve the Company for a minimum of five years including probation. Early resignation attracts liquidated damages (up to one year's gross salary, proportionately reduced after year one) plus a Rs. 35,000 Onboarding and Integration cost. No lien/bond with a subsequent employer binds the Company.

Exam Accommodations for PwBD Candidates

  • Scribe (own arrangement, candidate's cost): available to Visually Impaired candidates and PwBD candidates (40%+ disability) with permanently affected writing speed. The scribe must be from a different academic stream, cannot be a candidate for the same exam or a current UIIC employee, and cannot scribe for more than one candidate. Requested at the time of application; a signed declaration (from both candidate and scribe) is required, and the scribe's own qualification must be one step below the candidate's.
  • Compensatory time: 20 minutes per hour of examination for scribe users, locomotor-disability/cerebral-palsy candidates (40%+ impairment of the writing hand), Visually Impaired candidates (40%+, also eligible for a magnified-font test display), and Intellectual Disability candidates (40%+, with or without a scribe).
  • Under-40% disability with genuine writing difficulty: can still get a scribe/compensatory time on production of a medical certificate from a competent Government healthcare authority, again with the scribe's qualification one step below the candidate's.
  • Any scribe used outside these rules, or found independently answering/assisting, leads to immediate disqualification of both candidate and scribe (even retrospectively, after joining).
  • Pre-Examination Training (online): offered to SC/ST/OBC (Non-Creamy)/PwBD candidates who opt in on the application form; schedule shared via registered email/mobile. Attending it does not itself confer any right to employment.

How to Apply

  1. Visit the Recruitment section of uiic.co.in and click "Apply Online".
  2. Choose "Click here for New Registration"; enter Name, contact details and Email ID to generate a Provisional Registration Number and Password (also emailed/SMSed) - note these down.
  3. Use "Save and Next" if the form can't be completed in one sitting; verify every field carefully, since nothing can be changed after Complete Registration.
  4. Upload photograph, signature, left thumb impression, and handwritten declaration per the exact specifications (see Documents Required).
  5. Use the Preview tab, then click "Complete Registration" only once every detail (especially name spelling matching certificates/ID) is confirmed correct.
  6. Click "Payment" and pay online via Debit/Credit Card, Internet Banking, IMPS, or Cash Card/Mobile Wallet - wait for server confirmation, never press Back/Refresh mid-payment.
  7. An e-Receipt confirms successful payment; if it isn't generated, the payment failed - log in again and repeat payment.
  8. Click "Submit" and print both the e-Receipt and the completed application form.

Documents Required (upload specifications)

  • Photograph: recent colour passport-style photo, light/white background, no cap/hat/dark glasses (religious headwear allowed if face visible), no red-eye or glare on glasses. 200x230 pixels preferred, JPG/JPEG, 20-50KB.
  • Signature: black ink on white paper, not in capital letters; must match the signature used at the exam/interview and Call Letter or the candidate is disqualified.
  • Left thumb impression: black or blue ink on white paper (fallback order if left thumb unavailable: right thumb, then other fingers, then left toe - specify which was used). 240x240 pixels at 200 DPI (3cm x 3cm), JPG/JPEG, 20-50KB.
  • Handwritten declaration: candidate's own handwriting, English only, not in capital letters, using the exact wording specified ("I, [Name], hereby declare that all the information submitted by me...is correct, true and valid..."). 800x400 pixels at 200 DPI (10cm x 5cm), JPG/JPEG, 50-100KB. A candidate unable to write may get it typed and affix a left thumb impression instead.
  • Valid Call Letter (photo affixed) and original Photo Identity proof matching the Call Letter name, at exam and interview.
  • Category/community, age, and educational qualification certificates, as applicable, at interview.

Examination Centre, Identity and Biometric Verification

  • Report well before the reporting time on the Call Letter - latecomers are not admitted under any circumstances. Preliminary exam attendance is roughly 2 hours including formalities (test itself: 1 hour); Main exam roughly 4 hours (test itself: 3 hours).
  • Bring the Call Letter with photo, original + photocopy of a valid Photo ID matching the Call Letter name exactly (PAN/Passport/Driving Licence/Voter's Card/Bank Passbook with photo/Gazetted-Officer-attested ID/recognised College-University ID/Aadhaar with photo/Employee ID/Bar Council ID - Ration Card and Learner's Licence are NOT valid), two recent passport photos, and PwBD-specific documents where applicable.
  • A name changed after marriage or otherwise requires an original Gazette notification, marriage certificate, or affidavit to be produced for verification.
  • Photo, thumb impression, and/or IRIS scan may be captured for biometric verification at various stages; candidates are told not to apply mehendi, ink, or other substances to their hands beforehand.
  • No request for change of examination centre, venue, date, or session is entertained; the Company reserves the right to cancel/add centres or allot a different one.
  • Response-pattern analysis across candidates detects shared/copied answers; detected cases have their candidature and results cancelled with no further correspondence entertained.

Certifying Authorities for Category Certificates

SC / ST / OBC
District Magistrate/Collector/Deputy Commissioner (or equivalent), Presidency Magistrate, Revenue Officer (Tehsildar+), or the local Sub-Divisional Officer.
PwBD
District-level Medical Board (CMO, SDMO, Orthopaedic/Ophthalmic/ENT Surgeon) or a government-designated authority.
EWS
Same authority list as SC/ST/OBC, via a post-31.03.2026 Income and Asset Certificate (FY 2025-26 income under Rs. 8 lakh, no disqualifying property).

State-specific: Maharashtra SC/ST/OBC claimants need a Caste Validity Certificate at interview. Tamil Nadu Scheduled Tribe candidates need a certificate specifically from the Revenue Divisional Officer (not Tehsildar). OBC candidates must certify they are not in the "Creamy Layer" per the relevant DoPT format.

Other Important Points

  • The Company can cancel or withdraw the recruitment process, in whole or for any post/centre, at any stage without giving a reason.
