Selection Process

Eligible candidates meeting minimum eligibility criteria as on the Crucial Date must appear for a Computer Based Test (CBT). Selection is based on relative CBT score. Candidates are allowed to appear in the CBT solely on the basis of their declaration of eligibility in the online application form. Scrutiny/verification of eligibility claims is done only after CBT results are declared, and only for candidates who clear the cut-off marks. CBT is conducted separately for each post, carries 100 marks, and is of 90 minutes duration in one sitting. Section A: Technical knowledge (discipline-related), 70 MCQs. Section B: General Knowledge, General Awareness, Reasoning, Verbal & Mental Ability, and Quantitative Aptitude, 30 MCQs. Each question carries 1 mark; there is no negative marking for wrong answers, and no marks for unattempted questions. The question paper is bilingual (English and Hindi); in case of ambiguity, the English version is valid and final. The CBT will be held at Test Cities as mentioned in the online application form; candidates may opt for their preferred city, which cannot be changed after submission.

How to Apply

A candidate can apply for only one post against this Employment Notification. All qualifications must be recognized by AICTE/UGC/appropriate Indian Statutory Authorities. Mere issuance of Admit Card does not imply that candidature has been finally cleared by NCL; candidature remains provisional until eligibility is verified against original documents after clearing the CBT. No relaxation in minimum educational qualification is admissible for any category of candidate. Where Grade (CGPA/OGPA/DGPA) is awarded, a conversion certificate from the concerned Board/University must be produced at the time of document verification. Candidates employed in Govt./Semi-Govt./PSU/Autonomous Bodies must produce a 'No Objection Certificate' at the time of document verification, if shortlisted, and must resign from their present job before joining NCL upon final selection. Selected candidates could be posted at any NCL Mine/Establishment and are liable to be transferred to other Coal India Limited subsidiaries during service. Appointment is subject to candidates being found medically fit as per CIL's Medical Examination Rules. SC/ST candidates called for CBT will be paid up to IInd Class Non-AC fare as per rules, subject to submitting the TA Claim format with required enclosures. No TA/DA will be paid for appearing in CBT, scrutiny/verification, or joining, except as provided in the notification. Court of Jurisdiction for any dispute will be the Honorable High Court of Jabalpur, M.P. In case of any ambiguity, the English version of the Employment Notification will be considered valid. Candidates must have an active email ID and mobile number valid for at least the next one year, as all correspondence will be through these or the NCL website.
