Selection Process
- Deputy Secretary (General-Admin.) and Assistant Editor: selection is based purely on interview performance (no written test).
- Level-6 posts (Senior Library & Information Assistant, Junior Translation Officer, Technical Assistant, Programme Assistant, Publication Assistant): a 100-mark, 2-hour written test — Part-I objective (50 marks: GS/GK + Hindi/English/Computer/Quant) and Part-II descriptive (50 marks, post-specific).
- Level-4 posts (Proof Reader Cum General Assistant, Stenographer Gr. II): the same 100-mark, 2-part written test structure, with post-specific Part-II content; Stenographer Gr. II candidates additionally take a qualifying skill test (80 w.p.m. shorthand + typing).
- Level-1 and Level-2 posts (Messenger Cum Rider, Van Driver, Junior Clerk, Multi-Tasking Staff): a 100-mark, 2-hour written test (Part-I objective 60 marks, Part-II descriptive 40 marks); Messenger Cum Rider and Van Driver additionally take a driving skill test, Junior Clerk a typing test.

- No Objection Certificate (NOC) for candidates currently serving in Central/State Government, Autonomous Bodies, or PSUs
- For candidates at Level-10 (₹56,100–1,77,500) and above: last five years' ACRs/APARs, an integrity certificate, and vigilance clearance from the current employer

- Fill the application with full details and attach a self-attested photograph and self-attested copies of all required documents.
- Submit a separate application for each post applied for (multiple applications for the same post risk cancellation).
- Superscribe the envelope "Application for the post of ________" naming the specific post.
- Send by Speed Post or Registered Post only to: The Secretary, Sahitya Akademi, Rabindra Bhavan, 35 Ferozeshah Road, New Delhi-110001.
- Ensure the application reaches within 30 days of the advertisement's publication in Employment News — the extended last date is 21 October 2026. Emailed, incomplete, unsigned, or late applications will be rejected.
