- A bachelor's degree, with the subject rules in the table below. Estimate at the entry basic pay plus Military Service Pay, with DA paid on both. Armed forces officers are not in NPS, so nothing is cut for it. Not deducted here: income tax, the Armed Forces Personnel Provident Fund (a savings contribution of at least 6% of pay) and group insurance, so the amount credited to your account is lower. Officers in field areas or government housing do not get HRA but get field and other allowances instead. During academy training, cadets get a fixed stipend of ₹56,100 a month.
